Metropolis-Sailing is an information platform for my Lagoon 420 catamaran “Metropolis.”

Until now, relatives, friends, colleagues, acquaintances—as well as enthusiasts and lovers of catamaran sailing—have found all the details here about the boat, past and planned cruises (passages), life on board, and opportunities to sail along.

Now the vessel is up for sale.

All the necessary information is available on the pages of this website.

Following a refit over the past few months, the new owner can look forward to a boat with an overhauled rig, new sails, mostly new lines, a new lazy bag, a new sprayhood, a new anchor and chain, and an intact underwater hull. It will be handed over to the new owner ready to sail, complete with all the necessary equipment for living on board (e.g., kitchen utensils, bedding).

The boat has always been in caring private ownership and was never chartered. Its condition reflects that.

Engines and saildrives were serviced regularly.

There are plenty of spare parts and tools, all of which will be handed over to the new owner.

Buyers will receive detailed instructions from me. On request, I’m happy to accompany the new owner on their first trips or assist with transfer. I’m eager to share my knowledge and experience.

Please note:

I’ve intentionally set the asking price relatively low, as I’m keen on a quick sale. Moreover, the boat has been extensively sailed (approx. 53,000 nautical miles). Despite careful handling and good maintenance, wear from use and UV exposure is inevitable and should be expected. However, compared to charter boats, these signs of wear are noticeably less. My guests were consistently surprised at how good everything still looks.
